Holiday Lighting Ceremonies in St. Joseph

As the air turns crisp and lights begin to twinkle, the City of St. Joseph invites you to kick off the holiday season with festive lighting ceremonies that transform local parks and downtown into winter wonderlands. Grab your cocoa, bundle up, and join the community to illuminate the night together.

Holiday Park Lighting Ceremony

Details: The giant switch is flipped at 6 p.m., lighting up Krug Park with festive displays; free hot cocoa and cookies will be served at the lagoon circle. 

Date & Time: Friday, November 28, 2025 at 6:00 PM 

Location: Krug Park, 3500 St. Joseph Avenue, St. Joseph, MO 64505 

South Pole Lighting Ceremony

Details: At 6:30 p.m., Hyde Park is transformed into “The South Pole” with a light display, an appearance by Santa, and free cookies and cocoa at the gazebo.

Location: Hyde Park, 402 E Hyde Park Ave, St. Joseph, MO 64504

Downtown Lighting Ceremony

Details: The holiday party kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with music; at about 6 p.m., Santa lights up downtown, followed by carriage rides, hot cocoa, and pop-up shopping in historic downtown St. Joseph.
